Privacy Policy
This policy explains what we collect when you use the Fit By FitBoutique® apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Android, and this website, and what we do with it.
Fit By FitBoutique® is operated by FITBOUTIQUE (“we”, “us”), an Australian company. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy applies to the iOS, iPadOS, Apple TV and Android apps and to fitboutique.app.
The short version: we collect what we need to run your account and personalise your training, we don’t sell your data, and we don’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising.
What we collect
Account information
Your email address and name when you create an account, or your phone number if you sign in with one (we send a single-use code by SMS to verify it). If you sign in with Apple, Google or Facebook, we receive your name and email address from that provider. We never receive your password. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only ever receive Apple’s private relay address. You can optionally add a profile photo, which is stored in our secure storage.
Your training profile
Details you choose to give us so classes and programs can be tailored to you: date of birth, height, weight, unit preference, fitness goal and level, reformer model, how many days a week you train, preferred class length, focus areas, and any injuries or limitations you tell us about.
Some of this is health information, which Australian law treats as sensitive. We collect it only with your consent, use it only to personalise your experience in the app, and never disclose it for advertising or sell it to anyone. You can leave these fields blank or clear them at any time in the app.
How you use the app
Classes you play and complete, watch time, progress and streaks, programs you enrol in, favourites, ratings and feedback you leave, and basic technical information such as device type, operating system version, app version, language and crash diagnostics.
Subscriptions and payments
Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, not by us. We never see or store your card details. We do receive your subscription status (for example whether a trial or subscription is active, and when it renews or expires) so we know what to unlock in the app.
Notifications
If you allow push notifications, we store a device token so we can send reminders and launch news. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
Website and email
If you join our mailing list, we store your email address with our email provider. Our website is served by Vercel, which processes standard server logs including IP addresses for security and performance. We don’t use advertising cookies on this site.
How we use your information
- To create and run your account, and to keep you signed in securely.
- To deliver classes and programs, and personalise recommendations to your goals, level and equipment.
- To track your progress, streaks and history so you can pick up where you left off.
- To manage subscriptions and trials, and to verify any access code you redeem.
- To provide support when you contact us.
- To send service messages and, if you’ve opted in, news about classes and launches.
- To fix bugs, improve the app, and keep it secure and free from misuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to target advertising to you on other platforms. Where we use Facebook sign-in, it is used solely to authenticate you. We have disabled advertising identifier collection and automatic event logging in that integration.
Apple TV and your other devices
The Apple TV and Android TV apps collect the same account, profile and usage information described above, so your progress stays in sync with your phone and tablet. They don’t access anything else on your TV, only what’s needed to sign you in and stream classes. Signing out on a device stops that device syncing.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run the product, and only so far as they need it:
- Supabase: hosts our database, accounts and media storage.
- RevenueCat: manages subscription status across app stores.
- Apple and Google: process payments, sign-in and app distribution.
- Meta: only if you choose to sign in with Facebook.
- Expo: delivers app updates and push notifications.
- Klaviyo: sends our marketing emails, if you’ve subscribed.
- Vercel: hosts this website.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, users or the safety of others.
Overseas disclosure
Some of these providers store data outside Australia. Our database and media are hosted in Japan, and several providers operate in the United States and the European Union. We take reasonable steps to ensure they protect your information to a standard comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles.
How we protect it
Accounts are protected by industry-standard authentication, data is encrypted in transit, and class videos and images are served through short-lived, access-controlled links. Access to production data is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take these obligations seriously and will notify you and the regulator if a data breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and training information while your account is open. If you delete your account we delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal, tax or dispute-resolution reasons (transaction records are generally kept for seven years, as Australian law requires).
Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: view and edit your profile in the app at any time, or email us for a copy of your information.
- Deletion: request account deletion from Settings in the app, or email help@fitboutique.com. See how to delete your account.
- Marketing: unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link in its footer. Service messages about your account will still be sent.
- Notifications: turn push notifications on or off in your device settings.
- Withdraw consent: clear optional health details in the app whenever you like.
Children
The app is not intended for children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 16, and if we learn we have, we’ll delete it. If you’re under 18, please use the app with a parent or guardian’s involvement.
Health and safety
FitBoutique provides general fitness content, not medical advice. Please read the health and safety notice in our Terms of Use before you train.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page when our practices change, and we’ll change the “last updated” date above. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you in the app or by email.
Contact and complaints
For privacy questions, requests, or to make a complaint, email help@fitboutique.com. We aim to respond within 2 business days and to resolve complaints within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
